Tsavo National Park, one of the largest protected wildlife areas in the country, is divided into two sections: Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park. Covering more than 22,000 square kilometers, the park is renowned for its striking landscapes, rich biodiversity, and the iconic red-dust elephants that roam its plains. Tsavo East is characterized by wide open savannahs and the life-giving Galana River, while Tsavo West offers a more dramatic setting with volcanic hills, lava flows, and the crystal-clear waters of Mzima Springs. The park also carries a fascinating piece of history through the legendary “Man-Eaters of Tsavo” lions, a story that adds a layer of mystery to its remarkable natural beauty

Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Nairobi Arrival, Tsavo West/Taita Hills Sanctuary, afternoon game drive
Day 02: Early Morning, optional activities. Tsavo West to Tsavo East, Game drives

Day 03: Optional activities, game drive, departure to Nairobi

Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park/ Taita Hills Snctuary (4-5 hours Drive).

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi by road. Upon arrival at the sanctuary by midday, you’ll check in at the Salt Lick Safari Lodge, a unique lodge built on stilts that offers uninterrupted views of a waterhole frequented by elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and more. After a warm welcome and lunch, enjoy your first afternoon game drive through the sanctuary, where you may spot lions, zebras, giraffes, and an array of birdlife. You’ll return to the lodge in the evening for a hearty dinner, and later, an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Tsavo West To Tsavo East National Park.

Go on an early morning game viewing within Tsavo west National Park/ Taita Hills Sanctuary until the exit time. Thereafter, together with your driver-guide, depart Tsavo East National Park for Tsavo East National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Check in and later on enjoy an afternoon game viewing. Dinner and overnight are at Satao Tented Camps on a full-board basis.

Day 3: Departure for Nairobi

You will go on a pre-breakfast game drive, then return to the lodge for breakfast. Later on, depart and have lunch en route. You will arrive in the late afternoon. You’ll be dropped off at the hotel or the airport.
